As a new CHP applicant in Colorado you have to complete 8 hours of training and pass two tests. GFEN does the 8 hour in two parts: 4 hours in the classroom, then 4 hours at the range. Testing is done at the range. We highly recomend you take the classroom portion first. There are days where we have both parts scheduled so you can complete the 8 hours in one day.

As a person renewing a CHP in Colorado you have to complete a minimum of 2 hours of training and pass two tests. GFEN Permit Refreshers are the 4 hours at the range. Testing is done at the range. We cannot justify (financially/logistically/ethically) to do a 2 hour class. Yes, we are aware that the laws says “at least 2 hours…” We already have 4 hour range classes scheduled that you can join.
