Had an irritating experience with this shop. I want to disclose that this is not me being a Karen because something didn’t go my way, and will try to be as objective as possible.
Came in today to look at available milsurp firearms as I’m an avid collector. I chatted with this very nice employee (who was very courteous and professional throughout the whole interaction) and came across a 1873 Enfield Martini-Henry in good condition for $250- a great deal! As we prepared to start the purchasing process the employee turned the tag around and noted that it was marked $999 near the bar code.
He went to validate the price (which is no fault on him- I would as well in his position) to whom I presume were members of management sitting by the front counters near the entrance quite close to us- close enough, in fact, to see that I’m obviously the customer interested in the firearm. One look at the tag and he rather casually confirmed that the $250 price was erroneous and immediately went back to his casual conversation with the other manager. He did not even look over at me- he treated this as a mere inconvenience and clearly did not really care that much. I did not proceed with the purchase.
My irritation isn’t with the fact that the price was mislabeled (things happen), but with the dismissive attitude of the members of management who did not even look at me, apologize, or offer any sign of acknowledgement that the shop’s mistake cost me half an hour of my time of examining and discussing the firearm. Nor did they offer a greeting when I walked in or any remark as I left. They were obviously way more interested in the casual conversation they were having with themselves. I do not need a Walmart greeter at a gun shop, but I’d expect a little more courtesy especially considering their mistake. Why should I value a gun shop that doesn’t value their customers?
I will note that the employee who discovered the mistake was highly courteous, friendly, and VERY apologetic despite the mistake not being his at all, and for that reason alone I have decided to leave two stars instead of one. Maybe some others that work there should follow his example.
I have purchased a Springfield Trapdoor rifle last year at this shop and had a great experience, so perhaps this one was a fluke. But the experience was enough to put a bad taste in my mouth… I probably will not return to this place.

These folks are awesome! Found exactly what I needed on their website. Called and confirmed item was still available. Purchased and Item arrived on time and was better than expected! Give them a chance to earn your business. Thanks for a great transaction.

Waited for almost an hour to get assistance shipping a gun because I was told: “Only that guy does that..” by the same employee that did my transfer and shipment the last time I went in. He and a couple other guys sat around and B.S.’d for 50 MINUTES while I waited for the one guy that, apparently, is the only one that actually works there. When it finally was my turn, I asked why the employee couldn’t help me like he had before. I was told: “He leaves early today.” ..’so he is avoiding anything that takes a long process to do…’ REALLY?!?! Yet, I watched that same person who REFUSED to help me take the time to sell a gun to someone else. Apparently, the process of background paperwork/check is okay but the paperwork/process that took me less than 15 minutes to do (after I waited for over 50 minutes to be helped) wasnt worth his time. Makes you wonder if they get paid commission. When I finally had it all done, I was told the price had gone up $25.00. $100 to ship a gun… and NOONE said anything about the increase when I called ahead.
I will NEVER waste my TIME or money in this facility again! I recommend that the one guy that’s willing to work in that place, stops doing the work of five people and gets a better job. This was one of the most blatant, disrespectful, lazy, and lakadisical acts I have ever seen. ZERO regard for the client nor the one guy willing to work… But we aren’t done yet… I then waited nearly a week for them to ship my gun. Every time I called to check on it I was given bogus excuses about how it would go out “tomorrow”… I sold on an online site and they hurt my credibility to my buyer and recieving FFL without a care.
SDS Guns you have successfully lost a client for life.

SDS is always my go to for any firearms needs. Lots of quality products and aside from in store stock they have an extensive online stock as well. All the people working there are awesome. They’re all super helpful and knowledgeable and make the buying experience what it should be. Finding the right firearm or munitions can be difficult but they will help you find what fits you best and I can keep you updated on all the new state mandated infringements, I mean laws 🙂 Thanks guys, you have a customer for life!

Drove down from Fort Collins to pick up a hard-to-find firearm and had a great experience with SDS Guns in Colorado Springs. Working with Kelsey and the owner was easy from the start they answered all my questions before I made the drive and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Both were knowledgeable, helpful, and clearly care about good customer service. And when I needed some assistance after the sale, they were super quick to respond and very helpful.
If you’re looking for a solid gun shop or FFL in Colorado Springs, especially for harder-to-find firearms, SDS Guns is absolutely worth the trip.
