Instructor Evolution

“A process of continuous change from a lower, simpler, or worse to a higher, more complex, or better state.” Our goal is to make you a better educator.

Instructor Evolution – 01

All instructor candidates must attend an end-user Fundamentals of Intuitive Defensive Shooting (CFS) or an Intuitive Defensive Shooting (CFS) course. This will help you understand the IDS concept.

Instructor Evolution – 02

After completing an end-user course, you may attend the instructor development course.  This is an intense academic program designed to give you insight into, and increase your understanding of, the principles and concepts that underlie the IDS program.

Instructor Evolution – 03

In order to insure your success, after successfully passing the Intuitive Defensive Shooting Instructor development course, candidates must team teach or assist in one full class before becoming fully certified to teach the IDS program on their own. Candidates may teach non-IDS while waiting to become fully IDS certified.

Become Part of Something Big

The Intuitive Defensive Shooting program is the evolution of the Combat Focus Shooting Program designed by Rob Pincus to work efficiently with the body’s natural reactions during a dynamic critical incident. Unlike many traditional programs, IDS does not take a purely mechanical approach to shooting training in isolation from the context in which the skill must be used. IDS is not simply “point shooting,” it is a training methodology that leads to more efficient defensive shooting skill.

Intuitive Defensive Shooting is the core program of the I.C.E. Training Company and is being taught by certified instructors around the United States and Europe. IDS has been successfully integrated into various military and law enforcement training programs and is the most efficient way for anyone interested in defensive firearms skills to develop their abilities.

What is the advantage of becoming a Guns For Everyone National Instructor?
  • Many states require instructors be certified through a 501(c)3 in order to teach ccw classes. We are a 501(c)3.
  • In a few states, to teach ccw classes it is required to meet a requirment set by a certain major organization, or have a curriculum that is equivilent or better. Our curriculum far exceeds the that requirement.
  • The Intuitive Defensive Shooting program was created to mach empirical data, and is not structured around unfounded methods.
